This project is too old, only for reference because Max038 is discontinued, and i have sadly lost the layout file, right now, its better to use DDS generator!
The board was build from this design
Here is two version of Max 756 PCB, the MAX756/MAX757 are CMOS step-up DC-DC switching regulators for small, low input voltage or battery-powered systems.
The MAX756 accepts a positive input voltage down to 0.7V and converts it to a higher pin selectable output voltage of 3.3V or 5V.
The MAX757 is an adjustable version that accepts an input voltage down to 0.7V and generates a higher adjustable output voltage in the range from 2.7V to 5.5V

Sometimes you need to connect something with serial RS232 bus, a good way is this:
« The MAX232 is an integrated circuit, first created by Maxim Integrated Products, that converts signals from an RS-232 serial port to signals suitable for use in TTL compatible digital logic circuits. The MAX232 is a dual driver/receiver and typically converts the RX, TX, CTS and RTS signals. »
Update 1: Here is a simple Rs232 interface, basically it was designed for a another avorted project, click on the picture to got the layout (Ares) file.

I’m plan to build a new improved GPS Logger, i design the pcb right now, and make some test with Arduino Mini and EM-406, the change are, a new charge pump , charging unit, and GPS PA6B module
The trace result example from my last trip in Canada with the first version

GPS Logger
I was looking for a system that logged me during my hiking or biking, i just find Arduino, and build this small nice homebrew project below!
So, the Requirement are:
– Light and Small.
– Be portable.
– Tropicalized.
– Be rechargeable easily.
– Large battery autonomy.
– Very sensitive.
